Why Selenite

Selenite is a form of gypsum crystal, one of the most abundant minerals on earth, found in sedimentary deposits across Morocco, Mexico, and the American Southwest.

What makes it distinctive is its natural satin luster, a silky, fibrous sheen that diffuses light rather than reflecting it. Unlike polished gemstones that catch and throw light, selenite absorbs it. The result is a stone that looks luminous rather than flashy.

It has been used in architectural and decorative applications for centuries, most notably in the windows of ancient Roman buildings, where thin-cut selenite panels served as translucent glass before glass was widely available.
