Seventeen inches of pure black fire. And then that pendant drops, and the room stops.

The contrast is the whole point. Two millimeter faceted hematite beads, each one cut to catch and scatter light like a strand of crushed black diamonds. The strand itself is already a statement. Then the cushion-cut CZ hits, deep orange-red, the color of a coal at its hottest point, set in a 925-stamped gold-filled bail with prong detail that lets the stone breathe and throw light in every direction.

In photos it is beautiful. In person, the sparkle is absolutely insane.

This is the necklace she reaches for when she wants to be noticed. Not loudly. Precisely.

Why She Will Wear It Every Day

At 17 inches, the Ember sits right at the base of the throat, the most photographed length in jewelry. It works open-collar, V-neck, scoop neck. The pendant drops to the perfect depth, visible without being buried in a neckline.

The 2mm bead scale is refined and sleek. This is not a chunky statement piece. It is a precise one. The kind of necklace that looks equally right at a dinner reservation and a Sunday brunch.

The orange-red CZ shifts color in different light. Warm amber in candlelight. Deep copper in sunlight. Bright orange-red under flash. She will never get tired of it.

Why Hematite

Hematite is an iron oxide mineral, one of the most abundant on earth, found in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rock formations across Brazil, Australia, South Africa, and the United States.

Its name comes from the Greek word for blood, a reference to the deep red streak the raw mineral leaves when dragged across a surface. In its polished, faceted form, it reads as pure black with a metallic depth that no other stone replicates.

The faceted cut on these 2mm beads is what makes this strand exceptional. Each tiny bead has been precision-cut with multiple facets, turning what could be a simple black strand into something that shimmers and shifts with every movement. Hematite has been used in jewelry since ancient Egypt, where it was carved into amulets and seals for its weight and reflective quality.

It is heavy for its size. Substantial. The strand has presence without bulk.

Why Gold-Filled, Not Plated

Gold-filled contains 100 times more gold than standard plating. It will not flake, fade, or turn with daily wear.

Against faceted black hematite, warm yellow gold is the only right pairing. It is the same relationship as black and gold in fashion: timeless, high-contrast, commanding. The gold-filled bail and prong setting frame the orange-red CZ without competing with it. The metal bridges the darkness of the strand and the fire of the pendant, making the whole piece feel considered rather than assembled.

The 925-stamped setting meets the same standard. Built to last. Built to be worn.
