One side white. One side black. One gold clasp that ties it all together.

This is not a necklace that needs an outfit to justify it. It is the outfit.

The split design is intentional and precise. Twelve millimeter white jade beads on one side, smooth and cool with that characteristic milky depth. Fourteen millimeter black onyx on the other, high-polish and commanding, each bead catching light like a dark mirror. Gold-filled rondelle accents run through both sides, the same warm metal threading through contrast and making it cohesive.

At 18 inches, it sits right at the collarbone. Substantial. Present. The kind of necklace that photographs from across the room.

Three Ways to Wear It

This necklace is designed to be styled, not just worn. Here is how to make it yours.

  1. Center the clasp at the front. The gold-filled clasp is a design detail, not hardware to hide. Worn at the front, it becomes the focal point, sitting at the center of the collarbone where the two sides meet. Clean, editorial, intentional.

  2. Wear it with the split falling naturally to one side. The black onyx drapes to the right, the white jade to the left. The asymmetry is striking against a solid-color top or an open collar. This is the way it photographs best.

  3. Layer it. Pair with a longer chain or a pendant necklace worn at 22 to 24 inches. The bold bead scale holds its own against layered pieces without competing. The black and white palette works with everything underneath it.

Why She Will Wear It Every Day

Black and white is not a trend. It is a foundation.

This necklace works with a white linen shirt, a black blazer, a camel coat, a summer dress. It does not require a specific wardrobe. It requires a woman with a point of view.

The 14mm onyx beads have enough visual weight to stand alone as a statement. The 12mm jade beads soften the composition without losing presence. Together they create a necklace that reads as bold from a distance and considered up close.

Why White Jade

Jade has been the most prized gemstone in Asian cultures for over 5,000 years, valued above gold and diamonds. The Chinese called it the "stone of heaven." It appeared in imperial jewelry, ceremonial objects, and burial pieces across Chinese, Mesoamerican, and Maori cultures as a symbol of status and permanence.

White jade specifically carries a quiet luminosity. It is not translucent like selenite or glassy like quartz. It has density. Substance. The bead feels as substantial as it looks.

Sourced primarily from Myanmar and China, where jade has been worked by master craftspeople for millennia.

Why Black Onyx

Onyx has been used in fine jewelry since ancient Greece and Rome. It was the stone of authority, worn by warriors and rulers as a symbol of strength and composure.

The high-polish finish on these 14mm beads is what separates quality onyx from everything else. Each bead reflects light cleanly, with a depth that matte or lower-grade stones cannot replicate. Against the white jade, the contrast is sharp and deliberate.

Sourced from Brazil, India, and Uruguay.

Why Gold-Filled, Not Plated

Gold-filled contains 100 times more gold than standard plating. It will not flake, fade, or turn with daily wear.

Against white jade and black onyx, warm yellow gold is the only right choice. It bridges the two stones without favoring either. The rondelle accents create rhythm through the strand. The clasp, worn front or back, reads as jewelry, not hardware.
