A strand of deep crimson rubies. A two-tone solid gold pendant with a diamond accent. This is not a necklace. It is a statement of intent.
The moment this hits your collarbone, you understand what it is. The 1mm faceted ruby beads are so fine, so densely packed, the strand reads almost like a ribbon of dark red velvet. Then the pendant drops. Two-tone solid gold, yellow and white, architectural in its simplicity. A bezel-set ruby at the center. A diamond chip above it, small and precise, catching light like a period at the end of a very confident sentence.
This piece carries real gold. The pendant is stamped 10K solid yellow and white gold. The clasp is stamped 585, which is the hallmark for 14K solid white gold. These are not claims. They are assay marks. The craftsmanship is verifiable.
Why She Will Wear It Every Day
At 15 inches with a 2.5-inch gold-filled extender, The Valenté sits right at the collarbone or drops just below it. She chooses. That range means it works over a crew neck, a V-neck, a blazer, or bare skin. It photographs deep and rich against any skin tone.
The ruby strand is so fine it disappears into the look. What registers is the color and the pendant. That is the design intention. Everything else steps back so the gold does its job.
Why Ruby
Ruby is one of the four precious gemstones, alongside diamond, emerald, and sapphire. It is a variety of corundum, colored by chromium, and its deep red hue has made it one of the most coveted stones in history.
Ancient Burmese warriors embedded rubies into their skin before battle, believing the stone made them invincible. In medieval Europe, ruby was worn by royalty as a symbol of power and protection. The finest rubies in the world come from the Mogok Valley in Myanmar, where the most prized stones display what traders call "pigeon's blood" red, a saturated crimson with a faint blue undertone.
The 1mm faceted cut on this strand maximizes surface refraction across every bead. The result is a strand that moves and shifts with light rather than sitting flat.
Why Solid Gold, Not Filled
The Valenté is different from the rest of the J. Parker line. The pendant is stamped 10K solid yellow and white gold. The clasp is stamped 585, the international hallmark for 14K solid white gold. These marks are permanent, verifiable, and mean exactly what they say.
Solid gold does not plate. It does not fill. It is gold, through and through. Paired with gold-filled findings and extender on the strand, The Valenté bridges everyday wearability with genuine fine jewelry at the pendant.
